If they are going to make fun of America the least they could do is spell it correctly.

I don't think they did. In fact I think they were making a point, first by alluding to the old German spelling and secondly introducing the K into America is a satirical reference to racism and the KKK. Much the same way as people spell Microsoft as "Micro$oft" sometimes.

Our country's name is spelled differently in other languages. Germany is called "Deutschland" in their own language, and Japanese call their own country "Nippon". Other countries have different ways of spelling foreign countries. We change their country's spelling for our language, and so do they. :)
